The Monsignor Scanlan Crusaders pushed their score all the way to 57 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 74-57 to Archbishop Stepinac. Monsignor Scanlan has struggled against Archbishop Stepinac recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Archbishop Stepinac's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jasiah Jervis, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Jervis continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Danny Carbuccia was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten assists.
Monsignor Scanlan's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Archbishop Stepinac, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Cardinal Hayes the next time they take the court. Archbishop Stepinac will host Cardinal Hayes at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Monsignor Scanlan will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
