Basketball Recap: J.L. Mann Makes It Seven in a Row on the Road

J.L. Mann lost to Mauldin back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The J.L. Mann Patriots walked away with a 50-42 win over the Mauldin Mavericks. Winning may never get old, but the Patriots sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

J.L. Mann was led to victory by Jade Hailstock and Imari Richardson. Hailstock posted 15 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals, while Richardson dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 boards. Richardson has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Breah Franks was another key player, putting up eight points and three blocks.

Destiny Mattison and Zara Leamon certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Mattison dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 boards, while Leamon scored 14 points and eight rebounds. With that strong performance, Mattison is now averaging an impressive 8.1 rebounds per game.

Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.6 points over those games. As for Mauldin, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-4.
