Harvest Prep takes loss despite strong efforts from Maliyah Lofton and Adjoa Acheampong

Recap: Harvest Prep Warriors vs. Upper Arlington Golden Bears

The Harvest Prep Warriors lost against the Upper Arlington Golden Bears back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Harvest Prep fell 49-37 to Upper Arlington. While losing is never fun, Harvest Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while Upper Arlington is ranked 28th).

Harvest Prep's loss came despite strong showings from Adjoa Acheampong and Maliyah Lofton. Acheampong dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds, while Lofton scored 16 points along with four steals. Lofton is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Harvest Prep and nudges their season record down to 9-7. As for Upper Arlington, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 13-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harvest Prep will take on Columbus Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Upper Arlington, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hilliard Bradley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hilliard Bradley is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
