Basketball Recap: Lakeview Starts off Right with Win over Champion

Lakeview gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Champion Golden Flashes 58-25. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Golden Flashes, too.

Lakeview's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sienna Terry led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds. Kalyssa Werner was another key player, putting up eight points and six steals.

Lakeview was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Champion only posted five.

Champion's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Lakeview will be playing in front of their home fans against Howland at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Champion, they are taking a road trip to take on Pymatuning Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
