Soccer Game Preview: Powell vs. Karns

The Powell Panthers will challenge the Karns Beavers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Powell's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

It was a proper cat-fight when Powell duked it out with Pigeon Forge on Thursday. The Panthers lost 7-1 to the Tigers. While losing is never fun, Powell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while Pigeon Forge are ranked 44th).

Meanwhile, Karns unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. Neither they nor Jefferson County could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw. The result kept Karns happy, as they haven't lost a game since April 8th.

Powell's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10-2. Karns' draw makes their record 6-7-3 this season.
