Basketball Recap: Harrison Comes Up Short

Harrison was the 36-34 winner over Paulding County when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Harrison Hoyas were beaten by the Paulding County Patriots 64-28 on Friday. The Hoyas have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jastacia Whitaker had a dynamite game for Paulding County, going 6-for-8 to rack up 13 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals. Whitaker is becoming a predictor of Paulding County's success: when she posts at least three steals the team is undefeated (and 5-8 when she doesn't). Another player making a difference was Lillie Harris, who posted 12 points and seven boards.

Harrison's loss dropped their record down to 17-10. As for Paulding County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season.

Harrison didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 76-31 defeat against Grayson on the 18th. As for Paulding County, they will head out to face off against Newton at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Paulding County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.6 points per game this season.
