Softball Recap: St. Anthony Bulldogs vs. Effingham Flaming Hearts

St. Anthony waltzed into their match on Thursday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They had just enough and edged the Effingham Flaming Hearts out 5-4. That's more bragging rights for St. Anthony, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Abbi Hatton was excellent, going 1-for-3 with a home run and two runs. Stacie Vonderheide was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

On Effingham's side, Mya Harvey was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with a home run, a stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Natalie Armstrong, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases.

St. Anthony pushed their record up to 22-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Effingham, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 19-8.
