Baseball Game Preview: Poly Bears vs. Valley View Eagles

The Poly Bears will head out on the road to take on the Valley View Eagles at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Valley View took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Poly, who comes in off a win.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Poly nor Lakeside made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Bears' pitchers stepped up to hand the Lancers a 3-0 shutout. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bears.

Meanwhile, Valley View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Arlington. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Eagles have suffered since March 4th.

Valley View saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cainon Wrisley, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. Isaiah Dandridge also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Valley View's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Poly, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.

Poly skirted past Valley View 3-2 when the teams last played on April 3rd. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
