Recap: Pensacola Tigers vs. Escambia Gators

The Pensacola Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 45-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Escambia. Pensacola was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Escambia apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Pensacola still got an impressive performance from Nick Jones, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was A.G. Floyd, who scored five points along with two blocks.

Pensacola bumped their record down to 8-11 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Escambia, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pensacola will square off against Milton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Escambia won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Mosley at 7:00 p.m. on January 20th. Mosley presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Escambia in Florida (Mosley is ranked 190th, while Escambia is ranked 413th).
