Softball Game Preview: Parkston Trojans vs. Lennox Orioles

The Parkston Trojans will head out to take on the Lennox Orioles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Parkston will be strutting in after a win while Lennox will be coming in after a loss.

Parkston took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Monday. They blew past Chamberlain 19-4. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Cubs: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Lennox suffered their closest defeat since April 23, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Sioux Falls Christian by a score of 3-1. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Orioles couldn't push the score so high this time.

Layci Eli was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She tossed 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

The win got Parkston back to even at 1-1. As for Lennox, they dropped their record down to 1-3 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Parkston suffered a grim 21-1 defeat to Lennox in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
