The Edison Vikings will head out to take on the Sheldon Huskies at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Edison is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.
Edison is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They came out on top against Turlock by a score of 9-7 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Vikings have posted since April 7th.

Alicia Leiva spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and six unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Lelia Tatupu and Angeleya Miranda did most of the damage at the plate: Tatupu went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run, while Miranda went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamaiya Wilson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Sheldon suffered their closest loss since March 12th on Thursday. They fell just short of Ponderosa by a score of 5-3. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Micah Kennedy put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Kennedy was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Sinitalela Heleta was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
Edison has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Sheldon, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-9.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Edison hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .353. However, it's not like Sheldon struggles in that department as they've averaged .325. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
