Preview: West Morgan Rebels vs. Brewer Patriots
West Morgan is 9-1 against Brewer since November of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The West Morgan Rebels will be home for the holidays to greet the Brewer Patriots at 6:00 p.m. West Morgan will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
West Morgan scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They came out on top against Danville by a score of 80-69. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Brewer aren't just finding sucess at home, as their game on Tuesday extended their overall winning streak to three. They took down Brindlee Mountain 53-34. That's two games straight that Brewer has won by exactly 19 points.
Jackson Dunn and Austyn Holmes were among the main playmakers for Brewer as the former scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and the latter scored 20 points along with three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Dunn has scored at least 25% of Brewer's points. Cam Ballinger was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds.
West Morgan is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Brewer, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.
West Morgan beat Brewer 56-49 when the teams last played back in January. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Brewer's Kade George, who scored 17 points. Now that he won't be playing on Thursday, will it be that much easier for West Morgan to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
