Baseball Recap: Richlands Blue Tornado vs. Castlewood Blue Devils
While Richlands's victory against Castlewood wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Richlands skirted past Castlewood 7-5. The Blue Tornado have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Blue Devils on Friday, too.
Collin Adkins was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Adkins was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
Adkins wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Bradley Fuller, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Connor McCracken was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Richlands' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Castlewood, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Looking ahead, Richlands will be playing in front of their home fans against Gate City at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Castlewood has already played their next contest (against Jenkins), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
