Baseball Game Preview: Logan Wildcats vs. Nitro Wildcats

Logan will venture away from home to challenge Nitro at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Logan will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Logan and Winfield, and Logan kept the tradition alive. The Wildcats walked away with an 11-7 win over the Generals on Tuesday. Logan's victory was all the more impressive since the Generals were averaging only 4.09 runs allowed on the season.

Meanwhile, Nitro came up short against Sissonville on Wednesday, falling 9-1. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Logan's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 7.3 runs this season. As for Nitro, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Logan couldn't quite get it done against Nitro in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 5-2. Can Logan avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
