Basketball Recap: Carlisle Victorious

Carlisle hadn't done well against Overton recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Carlisle Indians sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 40-37 win over the Overton Mustangs. For the Indians, this counts as revenge for the 33-20 victory the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.

Carlisle's win bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Overton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carlisle will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Alto at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Overton, they will finish 2024 at home by hosting Laneville at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Overton is facing Laneville at the right time seeing as Laneville is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
