Softball Recap: Carrabec Wins Going Away Against Greenville

While Carrabec put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Greenville. The Cobras put the hurt on the Lakers with a sharp 18-0 win. The Cobras might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Amiya Tibbetts was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Welch, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs.

Carrabec always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .576 or higher in three consecutive games.

Carrabec pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 21.3 runs over those games. As for Greenville, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carrabec will head out to square off against Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cobras are facing the Cavaliers at the right time seeing as the Cavaliers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Greenville, they are taking a road trip to challenge Deer Isle-Stonington at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mariners have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.55 runs per game on average), something the Lakers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
