Basketball Recap: Salem Comes Up Short

The Salem Lions came up short against the Winchester Community Golden Falcons on Saturday, falling 63-42. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Winchester Community's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carter Fraze, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 18 points. The match was Fraze's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Hummel, who posted 12 points.

Salem's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Winchester Community, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Salem will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Orleans at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th. As for Winchester Community, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-34 win against Union City on the 8th.
