Baseball Recap: Avon Grove Takes Down Council Rock North in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Avon Grove had no problem doing just that on Monday. They skirted past the Council Rock North Indians 3-1. This was payback for the Red Devils, who suffered a 6-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Ryan Fuller tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Avon Grove saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Simeone, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most RBI Simeone has posted since back in April.

Avon Grove is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Council Rock North, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-10.

As of now, neither Avon Grove nor the Indians have any future games scheduled.
