Volleyball Recap: Westmoreland Takes a Loss

Westmoreland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Rome Free Academy Black Knights, falling 3-0. The Bulldogs were probably out for revenge after losing 3-1 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-19, 25-9.

Rome Free Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elijah Pomales led the charge by getting six digs and three aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Ginter, who had 14 digs and five aces.

Westmoreland's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Rome Free Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 3-5 record this season.

Westmoreland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rome Free Academy, they are taking a road trip to face off against Chittenango at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chittenango will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Rome Free Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
