Football Recap: Shadyside Tigers vs. Bridgeport Bulldogs
Shadyside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 24-21 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bridgeport Bulldogs. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
Jaki Threet continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Bridgeport, rushing for 240 yards and one score while picking up 10.0 yards per carry, and also throwing for 85 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Threet a new career-high in passing touchdowns (two).
Shadyside's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Bridgeport, their record now sits at 4-5.
Looking ahead, Shadyside will venture away from home to challenge Monroe Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bridgeport, they will welcome Cameron at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
