Basketball Game Preview: King's Christian Knights vs. Atlantic Christian Cougars

King's Christian is 1-9 against Atlantic Christian since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The King's Christian Knights will square off against the Atlantic Christian Cougars at 5:30 p.m.

King's Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Lily Welsh, who went 6 of 10 on her way to 13 points, and Angelina Alicea, who posted four points along with 11 rebounds and three steals. Welsh has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Atlantic Christian over Abundant Life Academy in every quarter on their way to victory on Wednesday. Atlantic Christian strolled past Abundant Life Academy with points to spare, taking the game 36-21.

King's Christian's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-6. As for Atlantic Christian, the victory got them back to even at 4-4-1.

King's Christian was taken down by Atlantic Christian 47-17 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Thankfully for King's Christian, Becca Kelley (who went 8 of 17 en route to 21 points along with six steals and five assists) won't be suiting up this time.
