Baseball Recap: St. Ignatius College Preparatory Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

St. Ignatius College Preparatory came out on top against Saint Francis on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Wildcats took their game against the Lancers 7-3. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Lancers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Archer Horn was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on AJ Wineinger, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was DJ Delaney, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

St. Ignatius College Preparatory's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-8-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Saint Francis, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 20-8.

As of now, neither St. Ignatius College Preparatory nor the Lancers have any future games scheduled.
