Banner County won the last time they faced Minatare, and Leeigh Mcgowan did her part to make sure it happened again. The Banner County Wildcats came out on top against the Minatare Indians by a score of 36-25 on Friday thanks in part to Mcgowan, who dropped a double-double with 25 points and 17 rebounds. She has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 25 times she's played.

Kambree Hottell was another key player, putting up two points and seven boards. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (four).

Despite the defeat, Minatare saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jimena Perez posted 14 points in addition to seven steals and six rebounds. Saya Newlin also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-14. As for Minatare, they are on a 30-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Coming up, Banner County will host Crawford at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Minatare, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 38-21 loss against Cody-Kilgore on the 8th.
