Westside waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They greeted the New Year with with a 60-42 win over the Hephzibah Rebels. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while the Rebels are ranked 392nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Westside got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jarious Adkinson out in front who went 5 of 8 en route to 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aldrion Jones, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Despite the loss, Hephzibah still got an impressive performance from ISAIAH RICHARDSON, who posted 12 points. JUSTUS MAYS was another key player, putting up eight points.

Westside is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Hephzibah, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-10.

Westside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 74-25 win against Howard on the 7th. Hephzibah has also already played their next match, a 55-45 loss against Baldwin on the 6th.
