Soccer Game Preview: Garner vs. Cleveland

The Garner Trojans will take on the Cleveland Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Garner managed to keep up with Fuquay - Varina until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Trojans came up short against the Bengals, falling 6-2. While losing is never fun, Garner can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while Fuquay - Varina are ranked 114th).

Meanwhile, Cleveland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 6-0 to Willow Spring. The matchup was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Cleveland couldn't quite close it out.

Cleveland's loss dropped their record down to 3-11-1. As for Garner, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.

Garner was able to grind out a solid win over Cleveland in their previous meeting on Friday, winning 3-1. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
