Soccer Game Preview: Franklin Academy vs. Somerset Academy

The Franklin Academy Panthers will venture away from home to square off against the Somerset Academy Panthers at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Back in December of 2024, Franklin Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Hollywood Hills and fell 5-4. Even if the Panthers couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

They hit Hollywood Hills with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Mia Conry (2), Leannah Noel, and Veronika Lelio-Joseph.

Meanwhile, Somerset Academy entered their tilt with Everglades on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Gators with a sharp 8-0 victory. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by three goals or more this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Franklin Academy and nudges their season record down to 3-6. As for Somerset Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
