After a string of four wins, Great Oak's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Murrieta Valley Nighthawks by a score of 6-5. The Wolfpack were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Nighthawks earlier this season, when they won 11-10.

Great Oak's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 7-4-1. As for Murrieta Valley, they pushed their record up to 7-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Great Oak will square off against Capistrano Valley at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Murrieta Valley, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Great Oak at 3:30 p.m. on April 9.
