Basketball Recap: Waukomis Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Waukomis couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 46-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cheyenne/Reydon Bears. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Chiefs of the 37-35 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2018.

Cheyenne/Reydon's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kinley Goad, who posted 13 points. That's the most points Goad has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kimbo Denney, who put up nine points along with six rebounds and three blocks.

Waukomis' loss dropped their record down to 18-3. As for Cheyenne/Reydon, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season.

Waukomis does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cheyenne/Reydon, they have already played their next game, a 29-27 defeat against Canute on the 1st.
