Softball Recap: Lafayette Triumphs

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lafayette had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Hilliard Red Flashes 4-2. The win was some much needed relief for the Hornets as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Khloe Crotts spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brooke Lamb, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ella McAdams, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Lafayette's record now sits at 11-12. As for Hilliard, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-14.

As of now, neither Lafayette nor the Red Flashes have any future games scheduled.
