Baseball Recap: Eastern Comes Up Short

Eastern lost to Male back in April of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Eagles fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 6-5. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Eastern saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hudson Overstreet, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

Eastern's loss dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Male, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastern will welcome Shelby County at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Rockets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.14 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Male, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Taylor County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
