Basketball Game Preview: Archbishop Molloy Stanners vs. Xaverian Clippers

Archbishop Molloy and Xaverian are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2016, but not for long. The Archbishop Molloy Stanners will head out to square off against the Xaverian Clippers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Archbishop Molloy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully Xaverian likes a good challenge.

On Sunday, Archbishop Molloy was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 84-83 to Wings Academy.

Meanwhile, Xaverian came up short against Christ the King on Sunday and fell 60-53. The defeat continues a trend for the Clippers in their matchups with the Royals: they've now lost eight in a row.

Xaverian's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Archbishop Molloy, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Archbishop Molloy came up short against Xaverian in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 58-50. Can Archbishop Molloy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
