Softball Recap: Tidehaven Sets Scoring Season-High Against Boling

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tidehaven). They blew past the Boling Bulldogs 17-3 on Thursday. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 1-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Lacie Perez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Tidehaven let Anahi Palomares and Sophie Rodriguez run wild. Palomares scored three runs and stole two bases, while Rodriguez went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. The dominant performance gave Palomares a new career-high in runs. Halyn Rodriguez was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Tidehaven always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Boling only posted an OBP of .316.

Tidehaven now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Boling, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Tidehaven will challenge Shiner at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Shiner will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Boling, they will take on Hill Country Christian School of Austin at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
