Baseball Recap: Spring Hill Triumphs

Spring Hill's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cascade Champions, sneaking past 8-6. The victory continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Champions: they've now won seven in a row.

Spring Hill got a great performance from Ethan Christie as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Christie has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Gary Cox was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Landon Reilly also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Spring Hill lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Spring Hill now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Cascade, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Coming up, Spring Hill will head out to square off against Central Magnet at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Cascade, they will be playing at home against Moore County at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
