Soccer Recap: South Brunswick Starts Season with Win Against North Brunswick

South Brunswick gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the North Brunswick Scorpions a 2-0 shutout. Even though South Brunswick got in a bit of trouble with the refs ( Levi Phillips was handed a red card), the team managed to overcome the adversity.

Nathaniel Caines and Cooper Pittman scored both of South Brunswick's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

This is the second loss in a row for North Brunswick and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Brunswick will challenge James Kenan at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for North Brunswick, they will welcome Hillside at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
