After flying high against Eupora last Saturday, Houston came back down to earth. Houston fell just short of the Clinton Arrows by a score of 5-4 on Monday. The Hilltoppers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Takoda Harrell and Cason Moss stepped up to the plate in a big way. Harrell scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Moss scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Rob Hancock, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Houston's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Clinton, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-5.

Houston and Clinton should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings. Houston will challenge Columbus at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 158 places (58 vs. 216). Meanwhile, Clinton (ranked 32nd) will meet Vicksburg (ranked 208th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
