Recap: Tri Titans vs. Hagerstown Tigers
The Tri Titans scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They walked away with a 72-62 victory over Hagerstown. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Tri.
Josiah Cox was his usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. It was the first time this season that he posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracen Huffman, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Hagerstown's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Landon Lawson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. Lawson has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last nine times he's played. Another player making a difference was Grant Semler, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.
Even though they lost, Hagerstown smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tri only pulled down six offensive rebounds.
Tri has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Hagerstown, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-12.
Tri will take on Morristown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Morristown focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday. As for Hagerstown, they will head out on the road to take on Eastern Hancock at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hagerstown and Eastern Hancock are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
