Baseball Game Preview: Lake Brantley Patriots vs. Deltona Wolves

The Lake Brantley Patriots will square off against the Deltona Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lake Brantley's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Deltona's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Lake Brantley's offense. They came up short against Winter Springs on Tuesday, falling 8-0. The Patriots' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Meanwhile, Deltona gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Seminole by a score of 8-4.

Noah Lochiatto was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Lochiatto was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other pitching news, Deltona got a great performance from Brayden Thorn as he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Thorn also tossed no walks, which is notable because the Wolves are 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 7-12 otherwise.

Back at the plate, Jayden Lochiatto was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Jay Albizu was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Lake Brantley's loss dropped their record down to 14-8-1. As for Deltona, their victory bumped their record up to 9-13.
