Volleyball Game Preview: Varela Vipers vs. Miami Beach Hi-Tides

The Varela Vipers will take on the Miami Beach Hi-Tides at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a six-game winning streak alive.

Varela is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Belen Jesuit.

Varela found their leader in sophomore Sebastian Hidalgo, who had 22 digs and four aces.

Varela was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in five consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Miami Beach got the win against North Miami on Wednesday by a conclusive 3-0.

Varela's win bumped their record up to 18-6. As for Miami Beach, their victory bumped their record up to 15-2.

Everything went Varela's way against Miami Beach in their previous matchup back in April of 2021, as Varela made off with a 3-0 win. Will the Vipers repeat their success, or do the Hi-Tides have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
