Basketball Recap: Billingsley Takes a Loss

Billingsley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 54-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Breakthrough Charter. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Breakthrough Charter apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Despite the loss, Billingsley still got an impressive performance from Kyle Boice, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards. Boice has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Jake Rawlinson was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.

Billingsley's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Breakthrough Charter, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Billingsley will head out to take on Isabella at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bears will be up against the Mustangs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 65.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Breakthrough Charter, they will head out on the road to face off against Maplesville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
