Soccer Game Preview: Wauseon vs. Liberty Center

The Wauseon Indians are taking a road trip to take on the Liberty Center Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wauseon's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Tuesday, Wauseon and Ottoville finished up on equal footing with a 3-3 draw.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Liberty Center). They blew past Rossford 8-0 on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Liberty Center's offense was hitting Rossford from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Max Bucher led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Liberty Center pushed their record up to 7-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those four matches. Wauseon's draw makes their record 11-0-3 this season.

Everything went Wauseon's way against Liberty Center when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Wauseon made off with a 4-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
