Basketball Recap: Bennett County Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Bennett County and New Underwood squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Bennett County had to settle for second. They were beaten by the New Underwood Tigers 73-46. The Warriors have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meetings.

New Underwood's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sam Enos, who went 6-for-10 on his way to 19 points in addition to six assists and five boards. Enos also grabbed five steals, which is notable because New Underwood is 10-2 when he posts at least three steals, but 3-6 otherwise. Zeke Enos was another key player, shooting 54% from the field en route to 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Bennett County's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for New Underwood, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Bennett County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for New Underwood, they will challenge Wall at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Wall's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 18 games.
