Basketball Recap: Lowell Comes Up Short

After soaring to 65 points the game before, Lowell was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They took a 43-28 bruising from the Illiana Christian Vikings. The game marked the Red Devils' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Lowell lost, don't look at Braydon Cox. Despite the final result, he posted 12 points.

Even though they lost, Lowell smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Illiana Christian can attribute much of their success to Lucas Reidelbach, who went 5 of 6 en route to 12 points and six boards. Reidelbach is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Grant Rappold, who scored eight points.

Lowell's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Illiana Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9.

Lowell didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 54-48 win against Kankakee Valley on the 25th. As for Illiana Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 61-48 loss against Hammond Bishop Noll on the 23rd.
