Baseball Game Preview: Sequim Wolves vs. Orting Cardinals

The Sequim Wolves will challenge the Orting Cardinals at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Sequim has given up an average of 6.8 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Sequim couldn't beat Olympic on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the second inning. The Wolves came up short against the Trojans, falling 14-6. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 15, 2025, but that streak is no more.

Meanwhile, Orting never let their opponents score on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Foss as they made off with a 12-0 victory. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Tanner Hebel made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hebel was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Graysen Pedersen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Laithan Lawson, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Orting kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.

Sequim dropped their record down to 4-4 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Orting, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
