Baseball Recap: Riverdale Ridge Drops Highest Score of Season Against Northglenn

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Riverdale Ridge). They put the hurt on the Northglenn Norsemen with a sharp 19-1 win on Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Ravens, who have now won four games in a row.

Riverdale Ridge got a massive performance out of Landon Brophy, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most hits Brophy has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayce Sanchez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Riverdale Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .684. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .514 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Riverdale Ridge pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Northglenn, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverdale Ridge will host Prairie View at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Thunderhawks will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Ravens surely won't give up without a fight. As for Northglenn, they will welcome Westminster at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Norsemen's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolves have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
