Basketball Recap: Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City Comes Up Short

After flying high against Maple Lake last Tuesday, Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City came back down to earth. The Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City Falcons took a 71-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Paynesville Bulldogs on Friday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 85-66 back in December of 2024.

Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Paynesville, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 68-56 victory against Mayer Lutheran on the 3rd. Paynesville has also already played their next contest, a 96-75 defeat against Redwood Valley on the 4th.
