Basketball Game Preview: NCSSM: Durham Unicorns vs. East Wake Academy Eagles

The NCSSM: Durham Unicorns will face off against the East Wake Academy Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. NCSSM: Durham is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.6 points per game this season.

Last Thursday, NCSSM: Durham strolled past Falls Lake with points to spare, taking the game 68-52. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Unicorns.

NCSSM: Durham's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chris Chen, who went 7 for 10 on his way to 18 points. Chen continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethann Burkett, who posted 15 points and four steals.

Meanwhile, East Wake Academy suffered their biggest defeat since November 11, 2024 on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 68-32 loss at the hands of Franklin Academy. The match marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

NCSSM: Durham's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for East Wake Academy, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 3-8.

NCSSM: Durham strolled past East Wake Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a score of 51-37. Does NCSSM: Durham have another victory up their sleeve, or will East Wake Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
