Volleyball Recap: Mourning Takes a Loss

If Mourning was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Jackson last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Sharks lost 3-0 to TERRA Environmental on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against TERRA Environmental this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 two weeks ago.

While Mourning was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-23, 25-19.

When it comes to explaining why Mourning lost, don't look at Juan Clavijo. Despite the final result, he had 26 digs. Clavijo is crushing it when it comes to digs: he's had at least ten every time he's taken the court this season.

Mourning dropped their record down to 3-9 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for TERRA Environmental, their win bumped their record up to 8-4.

Mourning has already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against North Miami on the 3rd. As for TERRA Environmental, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Ferguson on the 3rd.
