Softball Game Preview: Weiss Wolves vs. East View Patriots

The Weiss Wolves will square off against the East View Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Weiss will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Weiss' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Pflugerville Connally with a sharp 15-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won five in a row.

Riley Impson looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in February.

At the plate, Aubrey Santos was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Alexis Herrera, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Weiss was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, East View waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Hawks 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Patriots have posted since February 28th.

The victory got Weiss back to even at 10-10. As for East View, their win bumped their record up to 13-5.

Weiss was able to grind out a solid victory over East View in their previous meeting on March 4th, winning 8-4. Will Weiss repeat their success, or does East View has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
