Basketball Preview: Dillon Wildcats vs. Marlboro County Bulldogs
The Dillon Wildcats will head out to challenge the Marlboro County Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Dillon will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Dillon is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 60-14 win over Lake View. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Wildcats had established a 44 point advantage.
Dillon found their leader in freshman Treasure Davis, who went 8 of 11 on her way to 17 points in addition to six boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Khwnylahi Mckinnon, who posted 11 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Dillon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.
Meanwhile, Marlboro County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They strolled past the Bulldogs with points to spare, taking the game 48-34.
Marlboro County's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Dillon, they are also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
