Softball Game Preview: North Pike Jaguars vs. Bogue Chitto Bobcats

North Pike is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Bogue Chitto a seven-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Saturday. The North Pike Jaguars will be playing at home against the Bogue Chitto Bobcats at 11:00 a.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

It was a proper cat-fight when North Pike challenged Sumrall on Thursday. The Jaguars fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 7-6.

Anna Claire Weber and Ellyn Williams stepped up to the plate in a big way. Weber went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI, while Williams scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. That home run marked the first that Weber launched this season. Another player making a difference was Sarah Lawrence, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Bogue Chitto came up short against Brookhaven on Friday, falling 16-6. That's two games in a row now that the Bobcats have lost by exactly ten runs.

Harper Kyzar was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Bogue Chitto's loss dropped their record down to 8-15. As for North Pike, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-16.

North Pike took their victory against Bogue Chitto in their previous matchup back in April of 2019 by a conclusive 10-2 score. Do the Jaguars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bobcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
